Meghan lands a new TV job
She’s proving there’s life after Megxit
Life is fickle, eh? One day, you’re a jobbing duchess, waving at strangers from gilded chariots, the next you’re unemployed, frantically updating your Linkedin profile.
Last week, word spread that Meghan Markle had landed her first gig since she and Prince Harry quit their roles as full-time royals and moved to Canada with their eight-month-old son Archie, with sources reporting that she’d be appearing on Canadian reality TV show I Do, Redo (coming soon to Netflix). And despite some sources denying the rumours, the fact that Meghan’s BFF Jessica Mulroney will be fronting the series – which gives ten alreadymarried couples another chance to throw their dream wedding – fuelled the speculation… especially since Sussex Royal didn’t deny the story.
It would certainly be a fitting first step for Meghan, who knows firsthand all about getting that perfect wedding second time around. According to insiders, her guest slot isn’t fixed, but it would certainly help her “work to become financially independent” – as she and Harry have pledged.
It’s no secret that former Suits star Meghan has rekindled her showbiz aspirations. Shortly after she and Harry dropped their resignation bombshell, a video went viral of Harry telling Disney CEO Bob Iger that his wife was “really interested” in doing voiceover work. Meanwhile, while they’re apparently setting their sights on Hollywood, they’re also determined to stay based in Canada for the foreseeable future. A Canadian reality TV series would be just the ticket to ease Meg’s return to the small screen. And just like that, the Queen cancelled her Netflix subscription. ■
