Mark & Michelle: ‘We’ll never escape the Wrights now’

At least they’ll have free babysitters

Having quit her role in Our Girl to spend more quality time with her husband, heat has been told Michelle Keegan is now concerned she’s going to get the rest of his family thrown in, too.

It’s clear the couple are planning to put down more permanent roots in the UK – having spent much of the past few years out of the country for work – as Michelle and husband Mark Wright have recently submitted plans to knock down a £1.3million farmhouse they purchased last year, and replace it with a sprawling mansion. The new plans for the house feature a bar, gym, outdoor swimming pool, and – most notably – a playroom. “Building this dream home is Mark’s passion project – and, judging by the size of it, it seems pretty clear that he wants a big family,” says our source. “But Michelle feels that he’s piling yet more pressure on her. Mark has said that he wants to make sure they have enough bedrooms in the house to make way for lots of little ones running around, and it’s making Michelle feel overwhelmed.”

The couple, who have been married since May 2015, recently went on a romantic holiday to Jamaica – accompanied by most of Mark’s family. And now that they’re planning to move from their Chigwell home to be even closer to Mark’s parents in Essex, we’re told Michelle, 32, is worried about the future. “She’s concerned that being so close to the Wright family, they’ll have to have an open-door policy, when Michelle was really hoping they could have more privacy,” says the source. “[His mum] Carol has already offered to help with decorating if Michelle needs to concentrate on other things, but Michelle wants to put her own stamp on it.”

The insider adds that Mark, 33 – who last year said he’d be happy to have quadruplets “because we’d have them all in one go” – is becoming obsessed with their future plans. “He has made no secret of how he wants him and Michelle to become a proper power couple like the Beckhams, and he’d love them to have the same amount of kids as David and Victoria. This home is his Beckingham Palace and it’s all he talks about,” says the source. “Michelle is trying to be positive, but she can’t help but feel that her whole life is being mapped out for her, and it’s scary. Their friends are really hoping it doesn’t become a massive issue and they can just enjoy their time planning their dream home.” ■
