J-LO’S PLAN TO MAKE HER GIRL A SUPERSTAR

Ain’t it funny how nepotism works…

- KATIE HOLLOWAY

We all knew J-LO was a hero, but her Super Bowl performance last week put her in a whole league of her own. Her pole-dancing made us weep, her bum seemed to move independently of her body, and her daughter Emme made a show-stopping cameo, joining her mother onstage to sing snippets of Let’s Get Loud and Born In The USA. Now, we’re told the 11 year old is on track to be the next big thing.

“Jennifer has always seen Emme as a superstar in the making, but her performance at the Super Bowl has convinced her even more,” an insider tells heat. “From the moment she could talk, Jen and Marc Anthony [Emme’s father] encouraged her to perform, and she took to it like a duck to water. People have been blown away by her natural talent.”

In the past, J-LO has showcased her daughter’s abilities on Instagram, posting a video of her singing Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You last year. And it seems the tiger mom has been training her daughter for her public debut. “Emme will practise for hours on end in her room, and her parents love taking her to recording studios where she can learn more about the mechanics of making music,” our source explains. “Jen sees what Kylie Jenner has achieved so young, and she wants Emme to strike now and take her career to the next level. That means putting herself forward as a backup singer, working with a singing coach, taking extra dance lessons, and making sure she’s in a focused and disciplined state.”

Emme – who has a twin brother, Max – was the talk of the show after last week’s performance, and had celebs including Kim Kardashian tweeting about her. Kim wrote, “Can we talk about how amazing J-lo’s daughter Emme sang and on such a huge stage like the Super Bowl?” And, if she’s anything like her 50-year-old mum, self-belief is something she’ll have in spades.

“Jen’s teaching her the importance of choosing the right style, how to carry herself with confidence, and the importance of networking with the right people,” says the source. “She’s equally supportive of Max, too, but Emme is very much the focus right now.”

And it’s not just J-LO – who shared the stage with fellow Latina superstar Shakira – backing this career path for her daughter. The source adds, “The whole family is psyched at how well Emme did. They think she’s a minij-lo in the making.” ■
