The Geordie OG tells us why growing up doesn’t mean going low-key
They were unleashed onto our TV screens nine years ago, in a whirlwind of break-ups, make-ups and vodka. But these days, while their younger upstarts are still getting mortal and hitting the Toon, the show’s original stars are settling down to a life of marriage, babies and mortgages – and playing it all out for us in the upcoming second series of Geordie OGS. It may be a crazy turn of events, but rest assured, our faves are still as OTT as ever.
Speaking to heat, Holly Hagan, 27 – who got engaged to fiancé Jacob Blyth last year, with the pair turning up at their engagement do in a white pumpkin carriage pulled by two horses dressed as unicorns – argues there’s no such thing as having too many hen dos…
How’s the wedding planning? Good. If we find a venue, then we’ll have it next year. But I’m planning my hen dos first – I’m going to have two this year and two next year. Probably in Mykonos, Las Vegas, Ibiza and Manchester. I’m only going to get married once, so I’ve got to milk it. Have you got the dress sorted? Well, if we’re going to get married abroad, it’s got to be a bit more relaxed, a bit more beachy and chic. So, I had to get all my glitz and glam out of the way with the engagement party. I’m a very decisive person and I know exactly what I want: off-the-shoulder, fishtail, a tight corset and a nice neckline. But, then again, I also feel like I want a winter wedding, so I can do the ball gown dress. I want it all. Some of your co-stars are having babies – are you feeling broody? I think we’ll start thinking about that after the wedding. But I have had a bit of a weight loss transformation recently, so I don’t want to ruin that and have a baby now. I’ll rinse this body for a while and then get pregnant. ■
