Sam & Billie go EXTRA for mum’s b’day

Did you really think The Three Musketeers would play it low-key?

They’re single-handedly responsible for keeping party planners in business, throwing enough mega-pricey, flowerfestooned dos to make the Kardashians weep with jealousy. So, it’s no surprise that Sam and Billie Faiers pulled out all the stops to celebrate beloved mum Suzie Wells’ birthday last week. After all, it’s not often that you turn 51 – in fact, some might call it a once-in-a-lifetime event. Cue all the balloons.

The Essex ladies, who call themselves The Three Musketeers, celebrated the occasion with a 24-hour blow out in London, where they got busy doing what they do best – in Sam’s words, “We laughed and cried, we danced and drank.” Among their festivities, there was a boozy lunch at Italian eatery Scalini, a Champagne and pizza-filled dinner, and an overnight stay at top London hotel The Berkeley – where their room had been decked out with so many green and gold balloons they could levitate a Pixar house.

Posting on Instagram, the giddy trio shared pictures from behind the scenes, including snaps of Suzie in a balloon-filled bath (while confessing there were naughtier photos – with a lot less balloons – that they wouldn’t be sharing with the general public.) The birthday girl was also treated to a two-tiered wedding – sorry, birthday – cake, captioned “Mum”, a feathery bouquet and a blazing fountain candle that could very easily have scorched a fake eyelash. The lucky lady was clearly touched, writing online, “I love you two more than words can say, you’re beautiful inside and out – kind, caring, generous. I’m a lucky mummy to have you both, thank you for everything you do for me,” before also thanking all the florists, cake-makers, and balloon-blowers involved.

It’s well known that the Faiers and their mum love a party or three. In January, the trio headed to New York to celebrate Billie’s 30th birthday, after reportedly annoying their fellow passengers in first class by singing and laughing before the plane had even taken off. This also followed a seriously swanky Great Gatsby-themed do in the UK, which included a nine-tier cake, a Champagne tower and glittering, floor-length frocks. But, seriously, how many parties is too many when you’re celebrating the people you love? Sam, 29, and Billie, 30, have often paid tribute to their mum for raising them largely by herself after their stepdad Dave Chatwood was imprisoned. “It’s always been the three of us,” Sam said last year. “She’s so strong and she’s been through such a rough time.”

To be fair, we reckon all three of them seem pretty resilient – they’re probably dealing with more hangovers than the rest of us put together. ■
