Beauty tips fresh from the London Fashion Week catwalk
It was an ’80s beauty revival on Olivia Rubin’s LFW catwalk
COMPLEXION
“We’re looking for flawless with a natural-looking glow and exaggerated shimmeringpink blush to really accentuate the cheekbones,” says lead make-up artist Sofia Tilbury. To get the look, begin with a soft focus primer to prep and add a subtle sheen. Next, gently buff hydrating foundation into the skin. Imperfections or pigmentation? Models were treated to a sweep of Magic Vanish! Colour Corrector for a youthful glow. Next, go in with the exaggerated blush effect. Sweep through the vibrant shades of a palette, applying to the apples of the cheeks, then blending upwards along the cheekbones and towards the temple. Finish with a dusting of powder to the T-zone.
LIPS
“On the lips, we went for a bright fuchsia shade – the perfect, beautifully contrasting colour to complete the look,” says Sofia. To achieve this bright and bold pout, first make sure lips are silky soft by applying a lip scrub. Gently massage in before rinsing off. Next, Sofia applied Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Velvet Underground. Apply straight from the bullet in sweeping movements, then build the colour up using a lip brush. Want extra va-va-voom? Don’t be afraid to go in with a lip-enhancing liner. Mwah!
EYES
“Wearing colour on the eyes was a huge trend in the ’80s, so to complement the incredible colours in the collection and make the eyes look more magic, I added a curved pop of metallic super-electric blue liner,” says Sofia. To achieve this look, begin by applying a primer to create the perfect base. Then, take your liner across the eyelid in one sharp line, ending at the outer corner of the eye to enhance and amplify your eye colour. Models’ lashes were curled for definition and lift using Charlotte’s Life Changing Lashes curler, followed by a coating of mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.
