CURTIS AND MAURA SPLIT

The holiday’s up for this Love Island pair

-

They lasted longer than the average Love Island romance. But eight months after coupling up in the Majorca sun, Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard have officially called it a day, simply telling fans that “it wasn’t to be”. The former lovebirds broke the news last week, with Maura doing the honours in an Instagram post, in which she said, “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate.” She added that there was “no bad feeling on either side” and that they’d “tried to make it work”, before wishing Curtis “nothing but the best for the future.” Sad faces all round.

Maura, 29, made a beeline for Curtis, 24, in the Love Island villa last summer, shortly after he broke things off with his “half-girlfriend” Amy Hart. Together, they made it to the final and, three months later, made it official. But in the last few months, they’d been dogged by rumours that they were on the rocks, as Maura committed herself to full-time Dancing On Ice training, while Curtis was busy as digital presenter on The Greatest Dancer and rehearsing for his dance tour with brother AJ Pritchard (see our chat with the pair on p38).

The former couple have denied rumours of cheating on either side, and also dismissed speculation that they had secretly split three months ago, and had been faking their romance ever since.

You know what this means, right? All our hopes and dreams are now pinned on Tommy Fury and Molly-mae Hague – last summer’s last couple standing.

No pressure, guys. n
