Now Ange wants an Oscar, too

After all the exciting Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reunion buzz recently, you’d be forgiven for forgetting about Brangelina altogether. But heat has been told Angelina Jolie is waiting in the wings to seize the spotlight back from her ex-husband and his ex-wife.
“Despite the rumours she might be quitting the film industry to concentrate on politics, Angelina is plotting her own Hollywood comeback,” says our insider. “It’s undoubtedly in response to the success that Brad enjoyed with Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, along with his memorable speeches and expert PR strategy.”
Brad – who split from Ange in 2016 – has been the talk of Hollywood after winning his first ever Oscar for his role in the Quentin Tarantino film. Our source tells us Angelina, 44, is now trying to get back in on the showbiz action. “She’s currently in talks to appear in a huge franchise for Universal, as well as planning an Oscar campaign for next year,” we’re told. “She’s feeling fired up after the success of The Invisible Man remake, which was been re-framed for the #Metoo narrative, and she has her own remake in mind.”
In fact, we’re told, Ange – who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar back in 2000 – is now trying to bring back the long-delayed production of The Bride Of Frankenstein. The source says, “It’s a role that she’s longing to play, as she feels it can also be retold in a contemporary way. She’s also pushing the studio behind the drama Those That Wish Me Dead [which she filmed last year and is due for release soon] to turn it into an Oscar vehicle and start a campaign to get her a nomination.” ■
