Kimberley: ‘I’m friends with Nadine again’
Does this mean they’ll be rebranding as Girls Reconciled?
It’s been seven years since Girls Aloud disbanded for the final time – making it roughly seven years since Nadine Coyle spent any time with her former bandmates. But last week, Kimberley Walsh fuelled speculation that a reunion for the group is more than likely, after revealing that she’d recently come face to face with Nadine and, surprisingly, it had gone rather well. Detailing the run-in, the singer said, “I saw Nadine the other day in London, and it was so nice to catch up with her. It’s been a while. We just bumped into each other at an event. It made me feel nostalgic.” Let’s be clear: this is a massive development for the fivesome, who have long been split into two factions, with besties Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley famously not getting along with Sarah Harding and Nadine. There have been whispers for some months about a reunion in 2022 to celebrate their 20th anniversary – especially since Nadine enjoyed a new wave of public support via I’m A Celeb, and Nicola won The Masked Singer last month. But there’s always been a massive roadblock: Nadine’s feud with her frenemies.
In January, Nadine said that a Girls Aloud reunion would be like “moving a mountain”. But, judging by Kimberley’s words, it seems like miracles might just happen. In the same chat, Kim teased, “We do have an anniversary coming up, but it’s a long way off still. Everybody is busy at the moment, but I have a lot of love for all the girls. I’m proud of all of them.” Hear that? She’s proud of ALL of them. Guys, it’s happening.
