Mario: ‘I’m having a third stag do for my boys… it’s selfless!’
The reality star chats wedding plans and making babies
It’s fair to say that Mario Falcone’s had quite the transformation since joining TOWIE in 2011, as Lucy Mecklenburgh’s “Italian stallion” boyfriend, who was easy on the eye but difficult to tame. These days, the 32 year old is a devoted family man. And even though he and his fiancée Becky Miesner have been forced to cancel their dream Italian wedding twice now – once after Becky got pregnant with their son Parker, now one, then again during lockdown – they’re happier than ever.
Speaking exclusively to heat, Mario tells us why he’s gladly dropped the playboy tag for good.
You’ve come a long way since your TOWIE days… Yeah. That part of my life, where I was having fun and being a single guy, was fine, but it made me realise that the next chapter would be even better. I think it’s good to make sure you get that stuff out of the way before you meet the right person… I think I smashed it to pieces!
But I enjoy this part of my life so much more. Did you and Becky have any big lockdown barneys? We didn’t. Some of my friends have told me they were ready to kill each other, but I’ve always said, “If you can get through the first six months of having a baby, you can handle anything.” Is baby number two on the cards? Definitely not at the moment. It’s been so intense with Parker, the last thing we’re thinking about is having another one. The plan would have been we’d have got married in May, and then we would have been trying now for baby two. Instead, no sex! How did you feel about having to postpone the wedding? I felt bad for Becky. But a lot of people were going through much worse hardship than us – people lost their jobs or couldn’t put food on the table, so it would be really sad if that was our big concern. Everything has been rescheduled for next year in Sorrento, and it will just be bigger and better. Does this mean you get another stag do? Yes – technically, this is my third! The first time, Becky got pregnant, and I’d already booked a massive house in the UK for a boys’ weekend. And then I went to Dubai in March. It’s not even me who wants another one, I’ve only just recovered from the last one. But my boys are like, “Come on, it’s an excuse for us to get away.” So, I’m like, “OK, you can use me as an excuse.” What a selfless act! Exactly! Make sure you put that in, so Becky sees it. n
