8 STEPS TO MAKING A GOOD DECISION
1 Set a date/time for your decision day or hour.
2 Gather information – consult research, write down facts, and consult others with information, experience and opinions to share.
3 Make a “decision factors list”, highlighting the key elements that have a bearing on your choice.
4 Now, take a break – do something absorbing that takes your mind off the subject and, preferably, relaxes you. If possible, sleep on it for one night.
5 Review what you’ve written and make changes if necessary.
6 Write down your final decision – most people have more commitment to written resolutions.
7 Share it with people who can commit to asking you at a later time if you implemented your decision.
8 Act as quickly as you can to implement your decision. At the very least, take one action that will immediately kick off the process.
