GBBO alumni Nadiya Hussain returns to tempt us with her favourite baked treats – and this time, they all have an unusual twist. Everyday cupcakes are transformed into ice-cream flavoured, fun-filled treats; a traditional scone is reincarnated as a blueberry scone pizza, and traditional toad-in-the-hole gets a spicy kick. Take that, convention! Nadiya also shines a light on some of the UK’S skilled bakers and pastry makers. ★★★★
Let’s face it, this one-off show could have been called Lockdown Foods Special, even though it’s a compilation of some of Food Unwrapped’s most notable comfort-food investigations. In Iceland, Jimmy Doherty looks into what makes some fish fingers higher in omega 3, while in Tanzania, Helen Lawal discovers the secrets of vanilla ice cream. We’ll also learn the reason why pork pie jelly exists. ★★★★
