Sarah moves in with her mum
Girls Aloud star ‘holding up well’ as she continues intensive cancer treatment
She revealed the devastating news that she was battling advanced breast cancer in August, adding that she was “fighting as hard as I possibly can”. And, according to insiders, Sarah Harding has since moved in with her mum Marie Hardman as she continues her treatment, with the singer apparently “holding up well” as she undergoes chemotherapy.
“Sarah has been supported by her friends and family throughout everything, but her mum has been her absolute rock,” said an insider close to the 38 year old last week. The source added, “After learning she had cancer, Sarah moved back to Marie’s home in Manchester, so she could start treatment with her mum caring for her. She’s undergoing intensive treatment and is holding up well. Being with her mum is the best place for her.”
The former Girls Aloud star– who has largely stayed out of the spotlight since winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2017 – shocked her fans and showbiz friends two months ago, after revealing that she’d been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, and that she’d recently been told it had spread to other parts of her body. She thanked her “amazing mum, family and close friends” for supporting her, as well as “the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who have been and continue to be heroes” – before adding, “I’m doing my very best to keep positive and will keep you updated here with how I’m getting on.”
Following her shock announcement, Sarah’s former bandmates rallied round the star and pledged their support. Cheryl posted a broken heart emoji, as Nicola Roberts wrote, “It goes without saying that this is blindsiding. You’re so loved and supported.” Nadine Coyle wrote, “I love you!!! You have always been able to achieve miracles when needed!!” while Kimberley Walsh said, “You are so strong and brave and we are with you every step of the way.”
Sarah has since remained quiet on social media, but last month, she delighted fans after posting a video to her Snapchat account of herself smiling and dancing along to music while getting her hair dyed. Her followers praised the star for staying positive during such a gruelling time, as fans urged her to “keep fighting”. n
