‘It’s been a day of pain, torture – and love’
In case you hadn’t noticed, Katie Price and Carl Woods are totally and madly in love – and they want the world, his wife, his dog and his postie to know all about it. Because nothing says true love like screaming it over and over again – and then permanently inking that devotion on your body.
Last week, the modern-day Romeo and Juliet took their commitment to new extremes by getting each other’s actual faces tattooed on their forearms, and taking their followers along for the ride on their Youtube channel. Katie showed off her Carl ink mugshot, before surprising him with an extra tattoo she’d had done – a bracelet etched on her wrist saying, “Katie and Carl,” underneath another bracelet saying, “Pricey Woods.” She ended the video by telling her followers, “It’s been a day of pain, torture – and love. It’s all about love.”
It’s no surprise that Katie and Carl’s overenthusiastic PDAS have sparked some doubt among fans – who might be feeling a touch of déjà vu. When she was married to now-ex-husband Peter Andre, she had his name tattooed on her wrist, which she later inked over with a rose and crown design. Meanwhile, a massive tattoo of a galloping pony hides the “Leo” tattoo she got on her ankle in 2011, in tribute to her then-fiancé Leandro Penna. She also hasn’t held back in waxing lyrical about her previous partners in the past – both Peter Andre and former boyfriend Dane Bowers have been called “the love of my life”, and she married third hubby Kieran Hayler within weeks, claiming it “felt right”. He later had to ink over his own tatt of a lingerie-clad Katie on his calf.
But, speaking in a joint interview last week, Katie, 42, and Carl, 31, doubled-down on their no-holdsbarred devotion to one another, insisting they were already planning marriage and babies, while Katie – who’s already mum to Harvey, 18, Junior, 15, Princess, 13, Jett, seven, and six-year-old Bunny – rubbished all her former proclamations of love. “People say I’ve been like this with exes, but no, they were just dress rehearsals,” she said. “This is the real thing.” She added, “I’ll change my name from Katie Price to Katie Woods – I’ve never done that before.”
As if we hadn’t quite got the memo, Katie rounded off her week of public praise by sending Carl a love note on the most intimate platform out there – Instagram. Underneath a picture he posted of the pair cuddled up together, Katie wrote, “We are more than a team, we are as one, we are smitten with each other… NOBODY has EVER had me like you have me! I can’t wait to prove everyone wrong!” n
