The Unmissables REVIEWS

Everything ents that gets a big yes from us this week

- Boyd Hilton

TV must have great faith in this new celeb reality competition format, because they’re stripping it across five nights next week at prime time, when you’d normally find lavish dramas or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. Presented by the increasingly busy Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff – following on from his gigs on Top Gear and A League Of Their Own – along with The Voice’s backstage reporter AJ Odudu, Don’t Rock The Boat challenges two teams of celebrities to row the entire length of Britain in cramped boats.

ION LAND AND SEA

As well as the main challenge facing the two teams of six famous people – in which their physical and mental stamina are tested, as they try to complete over 500 miles in their respective boats – the celebs will also face a series of fiendish challenges on land. The winners of these will gain vital advantages over the other team. But the main action of the series takes place on water, as the stars face the harsh waves and wind as they make their way around the cliffs and gorges of Britain’s shoreline.

BRAVE OR FOOLISH?

The producers have persuaded an impressively varied and diverse gaggle of famous people to take part, from Hits Radio’s Fleur East and Corrie’s Lucy Fallon, to Love Island dude Jack Fincham and The Chase’s Shaun Wallace, but it’ll be particularly intriguing to see how ex-politician Tom Watson copes with the whole thing. ITV, of course, will be hoping enough of them won’t cope in order to sustain the drama of this weeklong reality exercise. HHHH
