Louise: ‘Mum’s worried I’m putting off men’

Star gets some maternal advice

-

Seeing as she’s admitted she’s on the lookout for love, it should be pretty handy that Louise Redknapp is surrounded by men all day. The only problem is, they’re not buying what she’s selling. According to the singer, her mum Lynne is worried that a prospective partner will see her flanked by all her gay best mates and assume she’s already spoken for.

“My mum said to me, ‘When you’re sat there with eight boys, maybe men are not coming up to ask you out because they think one of them is your boyfriend,’” the singer revealed last week on A Gay And A Non-gay Podcast. “It just made me laugh. I don’t want to have to wear a T-shirt saying, ‘They’re all gay men!’”

This comes as Louise braces herself for the prospect of dating as restrictions continue to lift. The 46-yearold mum of two has said she’s previously taken tentative steps into the dating world, but has also been open about her struggles since splitting from ex-husband Jamie Redknapp in 2017, saying last year, “I don’t know if someone ever gets over getting divorced after 20 years.” But since releasing her book You Got This last month, she’s showed a renewed sense of self and a better idea of what she’s looking for moving forwards – and, as heat recently told you, would even consider getting married again.

So, this is a PSA for all potential suitors – don’t be put off by Louise’s hunky friends. She’s resolutely single and ready to mingle. ■
