Frank Of Ireland
Channel 4, Thursday 15 April, 10pm
This outlandish new comedy, produced by Sharon Horgan’s company, is created by and stars real-life brothers Brian and Domhnall Gleeson. Brian plays Frank Marron, a 32-yearold egomaniac who is the living embodiment of entitled masculinity, as well as being a self-absorbed fantasist. Domhnall plays his idiotic, naïve best friend Doofus (yes, really), who Frank treats with total contempt. Each of these six episodes (available as a box set when the opener airs) is also themed round a famous film, starting with Taxi Driver. The great Sarah Greene (Normal People) plays Frank’s ex, Aine, and the occasionally hilarious opener leads up to her gran’s extraordinary funeral. HHHH
