AT HOME WITH HOLLYWOOD
The SAG awards bring us some living room glamour
When this is all over, we’re not going to want to go back to proper awards shows. Yes, we love the red-carpet glamour, but with the pandemic keeping most celebs at home, we are loving getting a glimpse into their glitzy houses.
Last week, for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, we got see Kaley Cuoco once again posing in front of her ginormous swimming pool at her California mansion, Gillian Anderson lounging glamorously on the sofa, and our favourite Canadian comedy family – the Levys – squeezed into frame together. Schitt’s Creek picked up two SAG awards, and Dan said it was a “surreal” experience to receive the awards alongside his father Eugene, and sister Sarah, who both also starred in the comedy. In keeping with the pomp and circumstance of Bridgerton, actress Kathryn Drysdale represented the Netflix hit, watching the show in her gown at Claridge’s Hotel in London.
Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman took the top acting prizes for their performances in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Meanwhile, Anya Taylor-joy beat our own Michaela Coel to scoop the outstanding actress prize for TV.
However, the Brits did take home some prizes, with Gillian Anderson winning for her performance in The Crown, and Daniel Kaluuya winning for his supporting role in Judas And The Black Messiah. n
