Got the fear of letting your dog off the lead, it not coming back and you spending a long time chasing it down? Getting in control is all about practise, praise and, of course, tasty treats.
GRAEME SAYS: “Most dog problems stem from the dog being overexcited. But with recall, you’re allowed to be as excited as you like. Go bonkers, because you want the dog to be quickly excited and run back towards you. Most dogs will come back for a treat, so try not to feed them before recall training. Make the treat really tasty like chicken or a little bit of cheese, but use that treat only for recall and nothing else.”
