Lights Up: Adam

A theatre play “reworked for the screen”, Adam has been inspired by the life of Egyptian refugee and trans activist Adam Kashmiry, who also plays the title role. Adam was assigned female at birth, but knew he was a boy. This drama centres on the time he spent in a Glasgow flat, trapped in a catch-22 situation where he neither seemed able to transition nor to prove his need for asylum. HHHH
