‘Katie was like that when she was a teenager’
Last week, Katie Price shared a picture of her 13-year-old daughter Princess that caused a stir online. In heavy make-up, with hair straightened, false lashes and an obvious filter, Princess looked far older than her years. One fan wrote, “Take the filter off – she is beautiful, she doesn’t need it.” Another commented, “Omg no! She is a child, not a doll”, while a third lamented, “This is why young girls are so insecure.”
Katie, 42, had captioned it, “Love my gorgeous Princess. So grown up,” but it seems that Princess’ dad, Katie’s ex-husband Peter Andre, was not so happy. “Pete and Katie have sometimes clashed when it comes to Princess, and how grown-up and glamorous she looks,” a source tells heat. “He doesn’t like her wearing too much make-up and prefers her natural curly hair, but Katie is the opposite.” Katie started glamour modelling at the age of 17, and recently confirmed she’d had her 12th boob job. It’s clear that, for the mum of five, this look isn’t anything out of the ordinary for a teenage girl. “She doesn’t see anything wrong with Princess wearing make-up and doing her hair to look like her mum,” our source says. “Katie was like that when she was a teenager and thinks it’s just a normal thing for young girls to do. But Princess’ look in this latest picture was a step too far for Pete – he really doesn’t want her looking like that and it being shared on Katie’s Instagram. He doesn’t want Princess being a carbon copy of Katie, but it seems like that’s what Katie is trying to do.”
However, “glamour” is something that Katie has grown up with and she sees no problem in passing on to her daughter. In a recent interview with her mum Amy, Katie admitted that she goes against her mum’s wishes by having more surgery. “The number of times she’s said, ‘You’re not having another boob job, you’re beautiful as you are.’ I know she’s right, but at the time, you don’t think like that. Now, I don’t tell her what I’ve done until I’ve woken up because I know she’ll call the surgeon,” Katie admitted.
Amy herself explained that Katie had her first breast augmentation at 18, after a photographer told her she needed bigger boobs. Amy then added, “I’ve disagreed with every procedure she’s ever had. She doesn’t tell me now, because she knows I’ll go ballistic. Maybe she does it because she doesn’t feel she’s attractive enough, or maybe it’s body dysmorphia.” n
