A Black Lady Sketch Show

In 2019, US comic actress Robin Thede invited her friends Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson to help her develop a new sketch show that would address the lack of black women’s representation in American comedy. The result was the first run of this HBO sketch show, with episodes titled things like “Your Boss Knows You Don’t Have Eyebrows”, and which went on to bag three Emmy nominations. Having been delayed by the pandemic, the second series finally arrives, with six episodes’ worth of brand-new sketches featuring various hilarious characters and celeb guests. ★★★★
