ITV’S scheduling of the consistently excellent crime series is a tad random – with the first two eps of this 11th series arriving last summer, while the subsequent two stories have only recently aired this year. Anyway, here are those latter episodes, featuring Vera (Brenda Blethyn) investigating a fatal shooting during a robbery and the killing of a primary teacher. ★★★★ Boyd Hilton
