Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby

e love a good hotelbased documentary, and this series – in which Monica Galetti and Giles Coren visit some of the most swanky hotels in the world – is one of the best. In this episode, they hang out at The Lanesborough in London, the first time the hotel has allowed cameras to film behind the scenes. Even among the hoi polloi of London visitors, The Lanesborough, located in a historic building on London’s Hyde Park Corner, is something else, a place where suites are rented for months at a time and every room comes with 24-hour dedicated butler service. Even the guest dogs are given luxurious treatment, quite rightly, with butlers taking them for walks, while Giles prepares their meals in the hotel kitchen. ★★★★
