Based on Karin Slaughter’s best-selling thriller, this series centres round the question of how well does anyone know their parents? Split across eight episodes, it’s set in small-town Georgia, USA, where a random act of violence in the local mall sets off an unexpected chain of events for 30-year-old Andy Oliver (Bella Heathcote) and her mother Laura (Toni Collette). With blood on Laura’s hands, Andy’s perception of her mother is changed forever. And as dangerous figures from Laura’s past start to resurface, Andy is forced to go on the run.
