West Side Story

Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-nominated remake of the 1961 movie based on the classic stage musical set in 1950s Manhattan, where two rival gangs – the pale-skinned Jets and Puerto Rican Sharks – tussle over contested space on the west side of town. The songs and staging are fantastic – an improvement on the original film, in fact – and stars Rachel Zegler and Ariana Debose are dazzlingly good. ★★★★
