I did kind of meet everyone –including Princess Diana. But celeb-wise, I guess, [singer/songwriter] Nik Kershaw has been kind of my constant. He’s one of my bezzies, you know? I know I have a connection with him because he wrote The One And Only back then, but he’s still one of my bezzies. NOW… The two most famous people that I’m still mates with now are Jamie Oliver and John Bishop. John and I met doing panto together about 14 years ago at The Lowry in Manchester. It was one of the first professional things that he’d ever done in the business, because before that he was a pharmaceutical salesman. We just hit it off. He wasn’t famous at all and then literally a couple of years after that he went stratospheric.
