Style TEAM WEARS: Very Peri
How to wear Pantone’s colour of the year
Lilac and pale purple are everywhere right now – not only because the spring trends are full of colour and pastel tones, but also because it’s Pantone’s colour of the year. Yes, Very Peri is the colour to be seen in this season and, according to Pantone, it “displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression”. We’re on board with that!
Whether you want to go all-out in a top-to-toe look or simply nod to the trend, there are loads of ways to make it work, from sheer fabrics and coloured denim, to tailoring, fitted dresses and flouncy frocks. As with any trend, think about what you want to achieve from your outfit – whether that’s highlighting your waist, showing off or elongating your legs, flattering a petite frame, skimming over your shape or embracing a curvy figure.
Mixing in wardrobe staples such as classic blue denim, or neutral shades like cream or beige, will make this tone feel more wearable, too – ideal if you’re nervous about going too OTT. If you’re conscious of your bottom half, go for darker tones here as they’re more forgiving – keep lighter tones up top. Details such as drawstrings and tiebacks are great for giving a customised fit, as they can be tightened or loosened to get your desired look.
