The Vardys to be the next Richard and Judy
The stars are ready to take over our TV screens
As if five kids, four dogs and an ongoing legal battle wasn’t enough to be dealing with, Rebekah and Jamie Vardy now have a brand-new TV project they’re working on. Friends say the couple have set their sights on becoming a married presenting duo – and they want to be even bigger and better than This Morning legends Richard and Judy! Rebekah, 40, who married Leicester City footballer Jamie in 2016, hinted about their telly ambitions last week, confirming, “It’d be great to do something like that together. We work together pretty much every day as Mum and Dad anyway. Who k nows what’s in the pipeline for the future.” She then joked to Jamie, 35, “Could you cope with me? I don’t know if I could cope with you! We don’t always agree… but 99 per cent of the time we do.” The couple, who released their first children’s book, Cedric The Little Sloth With A Big Dream, earlier this month, have plenty of TV experience, with Rebekah making appearances on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, Dancing On Ice and Celebrity Gogglebox, as well as countless spots on Loose Women, Good Morning Britain, This Morning and Jeremy Vine.
The former model has also become a headline grabber in recent years, thanks to her infamous Wagatha Christie spat with Coleen Rooney. The case – which has cost the participants millions in legal fees, since Coleen’s infamous Twitter post accused “Rebekah Vardy’s account” of leaking stories about her – will finally come to a head in May.
If Rebekah and Jamie are even half as dramatic on-screen as they are off, we’ll definitely be tuning in. ■
