Luca Zingaretti, last seen in BBC Four’s Inspector Montalbano detective series, stars in this eight-part drama as controversial prison boss Bruno Testori, who rules the San Michele jail according to his own weird set of morals. Outside the prison, Testori’s life may have gone badly wrong, but inside the walls of San Michele, he’s known as The King, being ruthless with some people and surprisingly compassionate with others. When his leadership comes under threat, however, Testori has to fight a very difficult war.
