THE PLOT: Aged 50, Lisa (Marceau) quits her native France for a new life in LA, staying with her bestie Luka (Bouzyani), who soon launches her on to the internet dating scene. She hits it off with hot young man John (The Flight Attendant ’s Woodell) – but will their age difference matter? WHAT’S RIGHT WITH IT?
Also revealing Lisa’s neglect as a child by her self-absorbed pop star mother, Marceau’s character is easy to root for. WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT?
Writer-director Azuelos needed to think harder when conceiving the – sadly generic – gay BFF Luka.
VERDICT: An amiable slice of wish fulfilment.
