James Corden has announced he will be stepping down from his role as host of The Late Late Show next year, after eight years at the helm of the US talk show. While he will always be Smithy to us, taking on the reins of the late-night show sent James’ career stratospheric, and segments on the show such as Carpool Karaoke and Crosswalk The Musical saw him sharing the screen with legends like Adele, Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion. In a statement, the father of three said it was “the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make”, but that he never saw the show as his “final destination”. He’s promised viewers that he’ll “go out with a bang”. Thanks for the LOLS, James.
