Barbara Windsor

The Mitchell matriarch became the queen of Walford the moment she arrived on set as Peggy in 1991. Mum to Grant, Phil and Sam; landlady of the Queen Vic; and wife to Eric, Frank and Archie, Peggy was everyone’s favourite peroxide pocket rocket. Babs – who sadly died in 2020 – initially left the show in 2003, but always returned, filming her final, moving episodes in 2016. Altogether now, “Get outta my pub!”
