It’s 13 years since the last Alan Partridge live show, and in that time, Steve Coogan and his co-writers Neil and Rob Gibbons have created some of the finest Partridge-based TV comedy in the remarkable 30-year history of the legendary character, from Mid-morning Matters to the recent This Time With Alan Partridge, as well as a hilarious podcast and two brilliant books. Now, he’s back with a UK tour, which Coogan describes as “a cross between a TED Talk and West Side Story… with singing and dancing to keep people entertained, but there will also be a heavyweight element to it”. Taking place in cities such as Edinburgh, London and Brighton, the show will, in Steve’s words, be focused on, “Alan trying to impart his accumulated wisdom and put it into some form that has cogency, so that he can ‘help’ other people”.
