Back in October 1993, the singer rang a pal, saying, “Could you please rattle some new people together for dinner here on Saturday?” A young ad executive was dragged along, with Elton saying he was “attracted to David immediately”. They met again the next night for a Chinese takeaway and fell for one another, entering a civil partnership in 2005. They welcomed sons Zachary and Elijah, and wed in 2014 when gay marriage was legalised.
