Three of the designer’s kids have moved out
Victoria Beckham has had quite the year, with one son married off, one now living in Miami, and the third off at boarding school. And, with just her and ten-yearold Harper left at home, the fashion designer has a serious case of empty nest syndrome. Last week, she opened up in a new interview about missing her children, but insisted she won’t be following her sons to the US, saying, “London is still home”. “I miss [them] so much,” the former Spice Girl revealed in a new interview with Grazia magazine, ahead of the launch of her brand-new fashion collection, VB Body. “David and I have gone from having four kids at home to having one-anda-half. Brooklyn and Nicola are going to be living between LA and Palm Beach, Romeo’s living in Miami, and Cruz is in-between home and boarding school.” Despite that, Victoria says she has no plans to move back to the US – where her family lived for five years until 2013 – explaining, “London is where I come to the office every day and where Harper goes to school. This year is a new chapter for my brand, and for our family – but London is still home.”
It follows her eldest son Brooklyn’s epic wedding to Nicola Peltz, at her billionaire family’s oceanfront Palm Beach estate. VB says everyone had “a wonderful time”, but admitted the day wasn’t without a few tears. “It’s a big deal, your child getting married,” she admitted. “I was very emotional. David’s speech was beautiful. It seems like yesterday that David was holding Brooklyn in his little purple cowboy hat and outfit at our wedding – now our baby is married.”
But with the kids now – mostly – out of the house, it gives Victoria a chance for some quality time with former footballer David, who she married back in 1999. “They said it wouldn’t last,” the star joked. “And here we are, about to celebrate 23 years together. We have so much respect for each other. David is an incredible dad and husband, and he’s very supportive of my work. We are really good partners.” ■
