Five-star For Less
Marv and Roch checked into the super-luxe Villa D’este, which costs from around £800 a night. Gulp. But there are some much less eyewateringly priced hotels to choose from. We love the Hilton Lake Como, which has all the views you’ll need to keep your selfies five-star, especially from their stunning roof terrace with infinity pool. There is a spa, three restaurants and spacious rooms in this converted mill, and with rooms costing from £140 a night, you’ll still have change for a gelato. Or check out Hotel Bellavista in the Menaggio area. It’s right on the water and has an outdoor pool, which overlooks the lake. The simple interiors and friendly service are great.
