Peaky Blinders: The Redemption Of Thomas Shelby

(BIRMINGHAM HIPPODROME, 27 SEPT – 2 OCT)

-

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a dance theatre show built around a much-loved TV gangster drama. It’s written and adapted for stage by Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight, and directed and choreographed by Ballet Rambert’s Artistic Director Benoit Swan Pouffer. The story picks up the Peaky Blinders gang at the end of World War One, focusing on the love affair between Tommy Shelby and Grace Burgess, while Tommy is building his criminal empire, and Grace is working as an undercover agent for Special Branch on a mission to infiltrate the heart of Tommy’s operation. The show features music by Laura Mvula, and is narrated by Benjamin Zephaniah, who also appeared in the show. It premieres at the Birmingham Hippodrome, followed by a London premiere at Troubadour Wembley Park on 12 October and a UK tour in 2023. Visit Peakyblinders Dance.com for tickets.
