THE DJ IS TAKING ON A NEW CHALLENGE

- SCOTT MILLS

He’s been a constant on the radio for over two decades, but Scott Mills, 48, is proving he is a man of many talents as he has been recruited for Radio 2’s 24-Hour Challenge for Children In Need.

Rather him than us, as it will entail an entire day on the treadmill…

How are you feeling about the challenge?

I haven’t done any running, or any real cardio, for about seven to eight years. I think you were one of two people in the pandemic – those that exercised every single day, or people that just ate Magnums. Unfortunately, I was the latter. I wouldn’t say I’m really unfit, but I’m not in the shape that I was at all. This challenge is going to be hard – I’ve only ever done two half marathons. So, good luck to me!

It’s been a year since you and Sam Vaughan got engaged – has there been any wedding planning?

I’ll let you into a little secret. Earlier this

‘I’d love to present Eurovision next year’

month, I went to Barcelona for 24 hours. Sam and I were like, “We want to get married abroad.” I don’t care if it’s cold and sunny, but I don’t want it to be raining. A wedding planner showed us around four venues and we found the perfect one – it really stood out. It was the first time I’d seen Sam for about two weeks, it was the only time we could think to go and we managed to do it all in one day! Are there any TV projects you would love to tick off ?

I’m just going to put it out there – I’ve worked on Eurovision for around 12 years now, so I would love to, in some way, be involved in the final next year. Rylan [Clark] and I always do the semi-finals, but because next year it’s in the UK, I just hope that I’m involved in some way because that will be it for me – an absolute dream come true. Another tick in a box that I never thought would happen to me. ■ MILLIE PAYNE
