Zara & Olivia: CLASH OR CONSPIRACY?
Fans question whether their feud is real after past links are revealed
Love Island viewers have been left baffled after unearthing some unlikely links between rival islanders Zara Deniz Lackenby-brown and Olivia Hawkins, with many left questioning whether their feud could be part of a carefully concocted plan.
Olivia, 27, and Zara, 25, first clashed over Tom Clare, 23 – with Zara branding Olivia the most “two-faced” islander. But after eagle-eyed fans did some digging, it’s clear that the duo first crossed paths long before South Africa.
Viewers uncovered the pair’s past friendship after spotting some supportive Instagram comments previously shared between the two. And after a music video from 2019 featuring the fiery duo did the rounds on social media, everyone was left questioning exactly what went down between them – and why they were pretending not to know each other.
It’s not the first time fans have questioned Olivia’s ties to the show – with the brunette also featuring in 2019’s opening credits, seen buying a sandwich from season five’s Joe Garrett.
Despite ex-islander David Salako confirming that the pair had discussed already knowing each other while in the villa, Olivia and Zara’s past hasn’t been addressed. So, naturally, social media sleuths have shared their own conspiracy theories over the apparent feud – ranging from stolen modelling jobs, to suggestions that Tom isn’t the first man they’ve fought over…
But while some have been coming up with juicy theories as to why they may have fallen out, others are wondering whether it could be a carefully contrived plan to cause drama. Either way, it’s sure to be a rocky ride with these two living side by side. ■
