Sam: ‘I’LL BE THE NEXT STACEY DOOLEY’
She’s planning a career shake-up
She’s the Essex girl who relaunched herself as a celeb mumfluencer, and now Samantha Faiers is ready for another change of direction. And, in a surprising move, she is planning to turn her back on reality TV in favour of presenting hard-hitting documentaries. Just call her Sam Dooley…
Sam – who lists TOWIE, Celebrity Big Brother and The Mummy Diaries on her TV CV – told fans in a Q&A on her Instagram page, “I’ve always wanted to do more documentarystyle TV, on really important world crisis realities that are not spoken about publicly.” The 32 year old then went on to list human trafficking and child exploitation as two of the subjects she’d be interested in covering.
The move to human-rights docus would not be as random as it first seems, however, as the mum of three has dabbled in humanitarian work before. The star has previously been on two trips to do charity work at an orphanage in Moldova with good friend and fellow ex-reality TV star Luisa Zissman. On their last trip in 2021, the pair raised £100,000 to help the charity and the children it supports.
However, Sam, who has three children – Paul, seven, Rosie, five, and Edward, 11 months – with partner Paul Knightley, could still struggle to be taken seriously after she recently came under fire for being “tone deaf ” when she complained about an “exhausting” promo trip to Abu Dhabi and a “tough” flight home, despite flying in business class. She defended herself by insisting that being an influencer is “24/7 work”, saying, “You just can’t win”. ■
