THEY’RE ‘HAVING A NICE TIME’ JUST THE TWO OF THEM
Theirs is a modern-day love story, having met on Twitter and exchanged months’ worth of text messages before he asked her out. But Greg James has revealed in an interview that he and wife of four years Bella Mackie are united about not starting a family “at the moment”, with their friends making having children “look hard”.
Of the prospect of ever becoming parents, the BBC Radio 1 DJ said, “We’re just monitoring it. But basically we’re both on ‘no’ to kids at the moment. We’re having a nice time. I’m 37 and Bella is 39. Plenty of time. We have a nice life.” And he added, “Bella is enjoying her success as a writer and we can take a view later, ask ourselves, ‘What does our life look like in ten, 15, 20 years?’ We’re fine without it.”

Sep September 2018 – did joke there could be ““consequences later in life” if they kept put putting on the brakes when it comes to rais raising children, as they may be “two sad old peo people rocking away in our rocking chairs”. In 2020, Bella revealed she’d suffered an early miscarriage, and the experience ha had caused her mental health “to plummet”, making her unsure of becoming a mum. And Greg – who’s proud pawrent to Labrador a Barney – confessed last week, “T “To be honest, all of our friends make h having kids look hard. None of them look li like they’re having a nice time. We’re not s short of babies and kids in our families.” While becoming a dad might be on hold, Greg has another dream: living abroad for a year, ideally “somewhere hot, with good wine”.
