JUST BE HONEST, GUYS…

Was their Uber Eats deal to help Brooklyn?

-

He’s busied himself as one of the owners of soccer club Inter Miami since 2018 and she’s been building her fashion and beauty brand for over a decade. So, fans were both delighted and confused last week when David and Victoria Beckham took a complete change of direction and teamed up for an Uber Eats advert on social media.

With Posh wearing a “My dad had a Rolls-royce” T-shirt and David telling her to “be honest” – a cheeky nod to their Netflix docuseries – fans called the ad “fabulous”, “hysterical” and “gold”. A longer commercial is set to be shown during the Super Bowl this weekend.

But others were baffled by health-conscious Victoria’s partnership with the brand, after David once revealed his wife only eats “grilled fish and steamed vegetables” and very rarely anything else.

Interestingly, their collab came just weeks after Brooklyn had partnered with the food delivery giant on a two-night London pop-up restaurant, which bragged it would provide “the ultimate takeaway menu”. The pop-up – which was run by chefs while Brooklyn was chilling in

LA – was only deliverable within a five-mile radius of its basement kitchen and seemed to only be ordered by food critics – who mostly slated the offerings. One described it as “like plane food” and another theorised it was “a confusing media stunt”, with the brand knowing it would be bad. So, either Uber Eats only hires Beckhams these days, or could it be that Mum and Dad are striking deals to give Brooklyn a little helping hand with his chef career? n
