These sisters will stop at nothing to get their shot
When the Kardashians go on holiday, it’s more often work than play. They might seem like they’re frolicking about in paradise, but every beach snap and poolside picture is a carefully constructed business opportunity – and their recent Caribbean trip to Turks and Caicos was no different.
Kourtney, 44, Kim, 43, Khloé, 39, and Kylie, 26, all managed to get a whole new raft of content out of it, much to 68-year-old momager Kris Jenner’s delight – and no doubt we’ll get to enjoy the vacay in forensic detail on their reality show The Kardashians. But while it might all look picture-perfect to their social media followers, an insider says things are never as they seem.
“These cheesy beach vacations may look like bliss, but it’s always drama, with Kris barking orders and no time for relaxation,” we’re told. “They were actually in and out of the resort very quickly.”
We’re told the pressure to get the perfect shot is the main source of stress for the sisters, who are no strangers to airing their dirty laundry on their show. Luckily, if anyone knows what gets people’s attention, it’s Kris, who has spearheaded the family brand since they first burst onto our screens back in 2007. Our source says that’s what these beautiful destination holidays are all about – showing the world how “fabulous their lives are”.
But the pressure to look perfect also comes from the sisters themselves, particularly Kim, Khloé and Kylie, who are arguably the most beauty-conscious of the pack. “They’re always so paranoid about looking less glam than the other, and the sniping was out of control on this trip,” says our insider.
Apparently, a luxury trip funded by brand partnerships and Disney’s production budget wasn’t enough to bring the women closer together. We’re told
the flashy trip only served to escalate tensions and bring out their competitive sides, which included showing off their various tweakments. “Kim has obviously had her boobs done, as has Kourtney, who has also had liposuction and a tummy tuck since giving birth,” says our source. “Khlo’s had nips and tucks from head to toe – she never stops – and Kylie has, too. And even then, they’re still Photoshopping their pictures to a ludicrous degree and having

meltdowns if there’s so much as a wrinkle in sight.”
Back in the day – otherwise known as the early 2010s – when they first started going on big-budget family trips with a film crew, the Kardashians made a fortune off their holiday photos. These days, it’s a little more complicated. But Kris has a social media strategy for every scenario – and a whole team to make sure it’s executed perfectly.
In 2017, unedited photos of Kim on the beach in Mexico reportedly had the star fuming, and it seems like the whole family made a vow to never let that happen again. We’re told Kris makes sure each sibling has what they need to show the world how glamorous and unattainably hot they are.
And our insider says the Turks and Caicos holiday would be better described as a “vacation photo shoot”. They tell us, “There’s a lot of competition among them all and they bring their own photographers. It’s actually laughable how many people they employ for this, not to mention the fortune they spend getting their faces and bodies camera ready,” adding that the only downtime the sisters have is at night when they’re “allowed to kick back and enjoy some cocktails together”.
Well, there are worse jobs to have, but there are definitely better holidays… ■
