AS POLO RETURNS TO WINDSOR ELLIE GOULDING LEADS A PACKED FIELD OF STYLISH STARS SHOWING OFF THEIR WINNING LOOKS
British society rejoiced last week as polo staged a glamorous comeback at the Cartier Queen’s Cup final in the breathtaking scenery of Windsor Great Park.
Singer Ellie Goulding led those having a field day at Guards Polo Club, elegant in a Victoriana-style gown by designer Olivia Creighton and white cowboy boots.
The 34-year-old Burn star, who in April welcomed baby son Arthur, her first child with husband Caspar Jopling, looked pitch perfect as she joined in the minute’s silence to honour the club’s founder, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Fellow new mum, fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper, who has sevenmonth-old Saphaïa with her Superdry cofounder husband Julian Dunkerton, was taking a walk on the wild side in an Ellie Saab snakeskin dress worn with a chunky gold and black belt. She described the event as “a glorious day out”.
ROARING SUCCESS
Jade was joined by the Marchioness of Bath, also dressed to impress in a safarithemed maxi dress, perhaps in homage to her home at the historic Longleat estate, which houses lions, tigers and giraffes at its wilderness park. Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, a Cartier brand ambassador who was there with her fashion designer boyfriend Reuben Selby, was down to earth in a brown dress from eco-friendly Bite Studios, while actress Naomie Harris brightened up the grey sky in a Schiaparelli pink dress.
Also going all-out for colour, rapper Tinie Tempah was no doubt keeping his eyes peeled for Top Winners as he mingled over lunch in the marquee, suited and booted in a jacquard-style red suit teamed with black boots and a charming smile.
