STAR MUM AWARD
If you know a special mother who should be recognised for their selfless work, nominate her for our Star Mum award, in association with leading luxury childrenswear retailer Childrensalon.
Last year, mother of four Soraya Kelly ( above) was the worthy recipient. She set up the charity and campaign The Gloves Are On to help disadvantaged youngsters.
“Receiving this award means the world to me,” South Wales-based Soraya said last year. “I was so thrilled. I’m hoping it will give me the platform that I can make so much more of a difference in the community. We really need to give these young people a voice.”
Soraya first came into contact with at-risk children while working in child protection; she then studied for a BA in youth and community protection at 36 while pregnant with twins. She set up The Gloves Are On – its projects including working with Cardiff City Council to help young people secure jobs – four years ago.
So if you know a Star Mum – perhaps she works hard in the community or has overcome significant personal challenges – head to hellomagazine. com/ inspirationawards and tell us in up to 300 words why she deserves the prize, and send us a recent photo of your nominee. Our celebrity judges will narrow down the top 20 nominations to five, with the winner chosen by hello! readers. Entries close at midnight on 16 August.
