#HELLOTOKINDNESS AWARD

-

Inspired b y our popular #HelloToKindness social media campaign, which aims to make the internet a more positive place, this award is for anyone who you think embodies the spirit of kindness. It could be someone who works to spread happiness and goodwill across their community, or offers support to those in need, or perhaps someone who champions a greener planet.

Last year’s prize went to London-based scientist Priya Vara (above), who dedicated her spare time to fundraise £50,000 to build a bereavement suite at Hillingdon Hospital after she and her husband Kevin lost their baby son Shayen four years ago. Priya, who is also training to be a bereavement counsellor while raising her and Kevin’s daughters Niva and Kiera, was “shocked” to win last year.

“This award means to much to me, to us as a family,” she said. “I am so thankful to everyone who voted and who took time to read our story. So many parents out there have gone through the same loss – this is for you.”
