To mark National Relaxation Day this week, we explore the mood-boosting benefits of sleeping naked, the impact wearing masks has on the hard of hearing and how to avoid doomscrolling. Plus, there’s a new, straight-talking wellness podcast featuring some familiar voices
On a mission to get the nation talking about tricky health subjects, high-street retailer Boots has launched its first podcast, Taboo Talk. Hosted by TV presenter Vogue Williams (right), it covers topics such as gut health, periods and sex.
The first episode sees Jamie Laing speak candidly about suffering from anxiety from the age of eight and how he hid his condition for years while in the spotlight. Now keen to destigmatise anxiety, particularly among men, the Made in Chelsea star opens up about a six-hour panic attack that “felt like he was dying” and discusses finally accepting the condition as well as coping mechanisms such as exercise and cryotherapy.
Further episodes over the coming weeks include talks about intimacy with sex educator Hannah Witton, while Rochelle Humes and Ashley James chat post-partum body confidence and Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore discusses the need to prioritise self-care.
And in addition to celebrity guests, healthcare professionals will be on hand to provide advice on how to tackle common health concerns.
Taboo Talk is available weekly on Acast, Spotify and Apple.
