USAIN BOLT

Olympian releases reggae album

-

Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt has released a dancehall album. The renowned Jamaican sprinter, who still holds the world records for the 100m and 200m he set in 2009, put out his debut album Country Yutes through 9.58 Records, a name which reflects his 100m time. The album reached No. 1 on the iTunes reggae charts in its first week of release. The retired athlete, who does not sing on the tracks, said: “It wasn’t always the plan, but music was always a part of my life. It’s no secret to the world that I love music. It has always been a part of my DNA.”

The father of three, 35, who won eight Olympic gold medals, is aiming for “the highest top of top – a Grammy”, he says. “That would be a big thing. So that’s what we’re going to work towards.”
