BODY RESET

-

Whether you’re training for the London marathon or just hitting the gym, make sure you’re not skimping on warm-ups or cool-downs. According to Melissa Kendter, lead trainer of the Tone & Sculpt app (toneandsculpt.app): “Taking time to warm-up allows you to raise the temperature of your body and your neuromuscular system – the part of your brain that tells your muscles how to contract – aiding performance, preventing injury and helping the aerobic system to work more effectively.”

And don’t just collapse in a heap after a tough session: keep moving. “If you have any sore spots, roll these out using a foam roller, apply some self-massage or be targeted with your stretching,” says Melissa. “It’s also vital to eat protein-rich foods and rehydrate.”
